A place to discuss the economy in World of Warcraft. Discussion should focus on the theory of making gold in World of Warcraft. New watercooler threads are posted on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday then stickied on each subsequent day. How to make gold with inscription self.

Normally i would not post guides or help since i am not an expert by any means but i have seen a lot of people having trouble with inscription. This is going to be one of the only realistic way you can still make a lot of gold which is going to be way to much work and hassle for most people.

First off you need a second wow account. While you are playing on your main account and doing you world quests etc you are going to constant scan to post, scan to cancle and scan for herbs. I have set up a sound when its done scanning so i dont miss anything. Remember to have sound in backround and just turn of sound effect and music. Milling herbs I used this link " https: I usually like to buy dreamleaf for up to 20g each and set custom crafting price for sallow pigment for g.

I feel confident this works out and everytime i mill around herbs i need to get 64 or more sallows which it usually does. Use the link to try to find your own prices for diffrent herbs that would be worth to buy on your server. TSM Using TSM or an addon that does the same job is a must. I setup my groups in how many sallow they need to craft. So 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and So glyphs that needs 2 sallows i make a own with their own account group which i would set a min price for about g ish.

This all depends on your server and your prices so you really need to figure out this stuff on your own. But lets say you make a group with glyphs that needs 10 sallows to craft and your milling gives you sallows for g each your sallow crafting cost would be g. Roseate pigment is usually very cheap and i have loads to spare but lets say they cost g each glyphs. Then total crafting price would be g. Getting glyphs Getting some good glyph recipies is key to make gold. Using wowheads guide " http: Competition Glyphs have loads of competition.

You wont make any gold if you check your glyphs a couple of times a day. Unless your server have no real competition. You need to constant have your other account scanning to post, cancle and for herbs. Most people would not find this fun at all so its up to each person how much they want to do, but i find this to be the only realistic version of making good gold with inscription this late into the expansion.

I am not really all that good of making guides so if something is unclear or if i missed something just ask me. Feel free to do whatever you want with this information aswell. I forgot to add you should try to keep 2 of each glyphs you are selling.

That way you can do a post scan before you cancle and not loose to much time. Also keep track of what glyphs you sell and craft them and send them to your AH character. Don't know much about inscription,, but if I needed to make a second account just to make gold, I'd just buy a token and collect my k every month instead.

I am not sure if people are getting the wrong idea or not. Inscription can make you a lot of gold if you enjoy doing AH stuff. I am making a pretty good ammount and i am having a lot of fun doing it.

I just didnt want to create a pipdream where i say that you can make k a day easy no problem just do what i do. Inscription used to be one of my main "go to" money makers however with each expansion they have gradually gotten worse in one way or another. Glyphs have always been time consuming to mill, craft inks and then stock up on the glyphs themselves but generally I always made bank with them. Unfortunately now that they are cosmetic only they are no longer required for competitive PVE or PVP gameplay.

In my opinion this drives their worth down into the ground as fewer and fewer people will be willing to spend big bucks on something so trivial. You can always try selling the cards individually or trying to buddy up with other scribes to trade cards with, but this is by no means a guaranteed money maker.

Finally you can always just try selling off your pigments directly as they come in. The rarer pigment is still worth hundreds of gold each on my EU server.

Glyphs, darkmoon trinkets, cards and decks, vanity items. Just selling what you mill. The general advice here is good: Also, the more time you spend playing the game, the more money you will make.

Play the Auction House, cata raids with all your toons, farm mats -- all are ways to make money by spending your time. That said, some of the specifics are not as broadly applicable. For example, getting g per sallow isn't possible right now on my server.

And herb prices are stuck above 15g, usually closer to 20g per, which means my sallow cost is between and g. Even milling felwort unthinkable a week ago ends up being in the same price range, with 5 felwort for k yielding about a dozen sallow.

In fact, looking at Undermine Journal, the lowest prices across all servers US end up maybe about half what I've got to pay, which would still mean to g per sallow. Of course, if you've got some farmers sending you stuff at a cheap discount, that clearly makes a difference. I've seen minimal movement on glyphs. A couple of them sell, but it feels like cosmetic-only glyphs are a tough sell when each one is 5k or more. I've had better luck with darkmoon cards, and LUCK is a key factor here, because of the random nature of the cards, but for the same general mats as a legion glyph, plus one felwort, you can get a card that sells for 15k to 25k.

And there are both buyers so they actually sell and competition so you probably have better success the more you repost. The biggest challenge right now is gaining enough mats for decent prices. Unlike WoD, we no longer have the entire population capable of farming from a herb garden.

Which means the prices for herbs will probably stay high for a while. And I think that makes the minor glyphs less appealing to the broader playerbase. Of cource you wont get sallows for g it was just easier to to make an example that way. Personally i have set a custom price at g which is is always overkill and i buy my dreamleafs for 20g each. In theory, we will be able to make our gold off the Vantus runes hopefully.

But I don't know what drop rates on the Technique are going to look like yet. And this will benefit the raid guilds that get in right away sooner than non-raiding guilds I would imagine. For the rest of us, the Vantus runes may indeed be profitable, but the trick is, if I've ready correctly, you actually have to beat the fight to learn the rune, so you can't be a basement-jockey and create these.

Unless they've changed that requirement. AFAIK, you are still correct. Which is why I made the statement of those few of us lucky enough to usually be among the first few guilds that have minimal issue with progression will likely profit more from this.

Even if they drop them in LFR as well, it will be a week or two behind the real raid. I wonder what the drop rate is. I am hoping there won't be the largest market on them. But we shall see. I mean you could try to toys or stuff like that but realisticly glyphs is the only way to make any gold.

And yes i mean this late into the expansion because the first few days there was no competition and almost every glyph would sell for 20k and you didnt need to cancle and repost every 10 min. It's why I generally stay out of enchanting on my server, and inscription is far worse. Well you can still make gold if you play less. You just wont make that much gold. But if you still have some rare recipies others dont have you can still make a good ammount.

I still think that if you are casual player having mining and herbing is the way to go. You make money while doing world quests and the stuff you would normally do and when you get world quets for like felwort you make 5k gold in a couple of mins. My problem is the implication of your post was: The challenge for folks with careers and families or simply other interests is to find a portion of the market on their server that they can work that fits into their time schedule.

For inscription, assuming they raid, the Vantus runes are likely to be a big seller for a long time. If someone wasn't a raider, I'd make a deal with a raiding team to get carried on some kills, and then make runes for that raid team. In WoD, I made a lot of gold selling bulk stuff to players like yourself, and let you manage the repost-fest, while I went raiding.
